Have you noticed that you have anxious energy?
Feeling exhausted but anxious at the same time?
Procrastinating?
Irritable with the people you love?
If you said 'yes' to any of these things, this practice is for you. Taking this few moments will bring more grounding and peace for the rest of your day - promise.
Reconnecting to Your Senses
Set Your Intention: Begin by holding the intention to connect with yourself. Notice which sense (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) feels more accessible at this moment. What is the immediate experience that comes to you?
Engage Your Senses: Choose one of your senses—sight, sound, smell, taste, touch. Explore this sensation in your current environment. Is it pleasant, comforting, soothing, or enjoyable? Example: As I write this to you, I feel comforted by hearing the birds chirping. Take a moment to immerse yourself in your chosen sense.
Connect with the Experience: Dive deeper into how the present moment is contacting you. Is it through ambient sounds of nature, beautiful vistas, or a welcoming feeling in your body? Embrace the sensations and let your body absorb the experience.
Reflect on the Day: Throughout the day, take moments to check in with yourself. How is the present moment coming into focus? What brings you into the 'here and now'?
Reconnect with Receiving: Explore how you receive life in the present moment. Notice the ways your environment is reaching out to you, whether through sounds, sights, smells, or a feeling of being welcomed.
By consistently reminding your body that it is part of this moment, you support the process of stress and trauma resolution and foster a sense of safety. Reconnecting with your natural orientating impulse encourages your nervous system to engage with the present moment.
Reflect on your experience and, if you feel inspired, reach out to us at the Empowered Women's Circle. Your journey is unique, and we're here to support and celebrate the richness of your life.
Just by taking this 2 minutes, you are rewiring your brain circuitry to be less irritable, less distracted, more present and peaceful. Enjoy.
